In my paintings, I often explore the layers of cultural memory. I reflect on how much of the imagery emerges from individual memory, how much from cultural or local memory, and how the imagery intertwines. The imagery emerging in this painting is indeterminate, the transitions of lines create the impression of the uncertainty of the phenomena of time and memory. The multilayered nature of the work opens the way for individual interpretations of this visual narrative.
